I did not lie to them,” Okay, I imagine the court of law will sort it out with all involved including local police. But then his wife and Defense Fund goes full MAGA: • The (legal defense) fund’s website said he was seeking donations because he was “facing the Deep State’s bottomless pockets.” • Celeste Fortenberry said there had been “radio silence” from federal prosecutors “until the Trump Justice Department became the Biden Justice Department,” (Even though the Clinton Foundation and former Obama Transportation Secretary are caught up in it too.) • She said the U.S. prosecutor handling her husband’s case was “in the running for a big promotion.” • “And don’t forget the midterm elections right around the corner for control of the House,” she added. So if Fortenberry didn’t lie, why the MAGA fusillade? It appears he would be better served with a good lawyer and himself, while sidelining his wife and MAGA marketing legal defense fund.
